The Villa is located on Chatham Park, a privately managed estate.
Disney parks are North West, International Drive is North and Orlando Airport is North East. This is a live map, you can scroll and zoom.
The Airport - 30 mins
From Orlando International Airport it's an easy half-hour drive, about 45 minutes if you're landing at Sanford Airport.
There are a couple of tolls on the 417 highway, you will need about $3 in change. Most hire cars also allow you to drive straight through any tolls and have the costs automatically added to your car hire bill. Beware they will usually charge a $15 admin fee on top at the end! Check with your car hire firm for details.
(By the way we usually use Dollar for car hire, never had any hassle with them.)
The only tolls are to and from the airport, there are no toll roads to the parks, shopping malls or other attractions, unless you choose to take a toll road of course. (They aren't usually any quicker.)
The only exception is Kennedy Space Center, there are a couple of tolls on the interstate and it's not really worth coming off to avoid them.
The attractions - Disney - 15 mins
From the villa the Disney main gate is an easy sub-15 minute drive away. Don't forget when you arrive at the Main Gate you've still got a 5 minute drive to get to the Disney Theme Park you want to visit - that's the dotted line on the map!
If you prefer to book a taxi (as we do when we go to the Food and Drink festival at Epcot) then booking a six or seven seater is easy and there are always taxis waiting when you exit the parks, even at peak times. All are safe and licensed and the cost from Epcot back to the villa in 2016 was $28 for a nice 8 seater.
The other main parks are all within 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic, as is International Drive.
The Attractions - Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure - 20 mins
Loads to do at this location, two Universal theme parks plus the new Volcano water park opening in 2017, cinema, restaurants, crazy golf, Citywalk, the amazing Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savoury Feast Kitchen ...
Mall at Millennia is just another 5 minutes further along the I4 if you prefer shopping to thrills.
The Attractions - Sea World and Aquatica - 20 Mins
About 20 minutes on the I4 or if you prefer a more interesting route, go via International Drive and Hollywood Boulevard where it will take about 25 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
Multiple Attractions - The 192 Irlo Bronson Highway - 5 Mins
The 192 runs West to East for 15 miles and has literally hundreds of restaurants and attractions including the picture perfect town of Celebration and the popular Old Town resort. The Villa is just off the 192 - far enough so you can't hear the traffic - and all the 192 attractions are practically on your doorstep.
The Attractions - Busch Gardens and Clearwater beaches - 1hr 10m
Busch Gardens is near Tampa on the West coast and is easy to drive to, straight down the I4 interstate. (No tolls!)
If you're after the clear white sands of Clearwater beaches then it's an extra 20 minutes further on. The local roads around Clearwater can be very busy at weekends, so we prefer to do the beaches on weekdays.
The Attractions - Kennedy Space Centre and the Surf Coast - 1hr
Want to see a real Space Shuttle? Get to the Kennedy Space Centre, you'll need a full day to appreciate the immense scale of the place. It's an easy drive along the 528 Interstate though there are a couple of tolls so have some change handy.
If you've got time there's a good shooting range called the Shooting Center just as you get to KSC, handy if you finish and have an hour to spare.
The Supermarkets - 5 mins
Walmart Supercenter, Target, Publix ... all 5 minutes
The villa is in a great location, nice and peaceful, no traffic noise and on a good, well managed estate.
- Theme parks 15 to 30 minutes
- Huge supermarkets 5 minutes
- 100's of restaurants 5 to 10 minutes all along the 192
